Pharmacognosy

The textbook is compiled in accordance with the modern requirements of the federal state educational standard of professional education of the 3rd generation in pharmacognosy. It contains all the necessary information related to medicinal plants and medicinal plant raw materials included in the program and mandatory for mastering. The history of pharmacognosy development, issues of the raw material base of medicinal plants, and stages of the harvesting process are considered. Special attention is paid to authenticity and quality control of medicinal plant raw materials, familiarization with regulatory documentation. The main groups of biologically active substances of medicinal plant raw materials are characterized, indicating the most pronounced pharmacological action of each group. Medicinal plants and medicinal plant raw materials are considered based on pharmacological classification. The textbook is intended for students of pharmaceutical colleges and technical schools.
