From a boy found by soldiers in a ruined Chechen village to one of the largest Russian artists of the 1840s-this is the life path of Peter Zakharov-Chechen (1816? 1846) In his fate was study with K. Bryullov, who called him "first after himself", and friendship with M. Lermontov, who made him the prototype of his mtsyri, and a triumphal election to the Academy of Arts. Early death from the consumption prevented Zakharov from fully revealing his talent, but he remained in history a vivid example of the creative talent of the Chechen people, his long -standing gravity to Russian and world culture
