The book presents a subject approach to the essence, structure and development of the psyche and personality. It implies consideration of both their functions and the corresponding material substrate in a living organism. Theoretical provisions are justified by modern data of psychogenetics, neuropsychology, neurophysiology and comparative psychology. Main feature of the psyche is rethought. Personality is defined as a control, organizing part of it. It highlighted the natural initial nucleus - the basic personality. The subject acts as a "dispatcher" of the personality, its operational integrating and managing center, organizing here and now behavior on the implementation of current needs and motivation derivatives. The development of the psyche and personality is considered as a natural deployment of natural needs and mental atticness, as the enrichment of primary basic patterns of behavior with a variety of psychological means.
