Ilya Ehrenburg's famous memoirs "People, Years, Life" are rightfully considered the most interesting and comprehensive narrative among all written by Russian writers of the 20th century. It is no coincidence that a few years ago the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation included his memoirs in the list of "one hundred books" recommended for reading. In this volume, Ehrenburg talks about his life, about the cities and countries where he lived, about his friends - great poets, artists, politicians, about the tragic events of the First World War and the Civil War, of which he was a witness and participant.
