The book of Viktor Berdinsky, created in the genre of "oral history", is based on the memories of the old people, which he began to collect back in the 1980s. These people survived such storms that would have been enough for several centuries of quiet, brazific development. With them, the huge mainland of folk existence sunk into the past. Their stories are contradictory, sometimes crumpled, but the pulse of real life beats in them and living Russian sounds. The heroes of the book recall the details of the rural life of the pre -war and military pores - how they lived and survived, how they worked and raised children, what they believed, how they ate and dressed. The book includes more than a hundred unique photographs taken by an outstanding photo artist S. A. Lobovikov, which captures the everyday life of Russian peasants at the beginning of the 20th century.
