This is the first domestic book on the pathology of the brain in newborns and young children. The book consists of 7 chapters, which cover topics such as the development of the brain in the intrauterine period, etiology, pathogenesis, pathomorphology, and clinical manifestations of major brain lesions, as well as intracranial hemorrhages and developmental defects, including unique ones. The book also discusses new and controversial issues in the diagnosis of diseases, provides classifications of lesions, clarifies nosological issues in pediatric neurology that are insufficiently studied. The reader will learn about the diversity of forms of brain lesions in children, how these lesions differ from adult brain pathology, and the role of infections, hypoxia, birth trauma, and other factors in their origin. The text is accompanied by over 450 color illustrations (photographs, diagrams, and graphs).
