In order to prepare this edition, autographs of complete scores and individual parts of John"s passions were used together with their modern copies. They served as the basis for the exact and complete reconstruction of the vocal parties of soloists who retain some errors. All remarks made by pen in a particular copy were analyzed and taken into account. Modern sources were used in the preparation of choral scooters
