The problem of timely detection of mental disorders in adolescence and youthful age still retains its relevance due to the frequent of these conditions with the features of a puberty crisis. In connection with the current trend of the World Health Organization, to popularize knowledge of psychiatry in the presented publication in an accessible form of non -core specialists, a characteristic of changes taking place during growing up, general information about serious mental disorders developing at this age is described, specific for this period of development are described Psychopathological syndromes (dysmorphophobia/dysmorphomania, anorexia nervous, hypochondriac, goboid, metaphysical intoxication, youthful asthenic insolvency) with clinical illustrations and consideration of options for manifestation of these conditions, depending on their belonging to one or another mental illness.
