The socio-economic significance of parasitic diseases, primarily malaria and intestinal helminthiasis, is so great that this pathology serves as an obstacle to the economic development of many countries of the world. In non -endemic countries, serious damage to human health is caused by serious cases of tropical parasitic diseases. Given the global significance of parasitic pathology, the leaders of the eight most influential countries of the world specially considered the problem of the fight against parasitic diseases.
More than 5 years have passed since the second edition of this book. The demand for various specialties of modern and reliable information about parasitic diseases, methods for their diagnosis, treatment and prevention was the reason for the preparation of the third edition.
In this publication, at the modern scientific level, materials on etiology, the features of pathogenesis, symptoms, clinical and laboratory diagnostics, specific treatment, epidemiology and parasitic diseases are presented. It summarizes world and domestic experience, as well as many years of their own clinical and epidemiological material of the authors received when working in the Russian Federation, CIS countries, Africa and Asia, as well as in the development of regulatory and methodological documents for the prevention of parasitic diseases for healthcare authorities of the Russian Federation.
