What more determines the history of Russia - “Russian genes” or “Russian elites”? The author put the modern scientific ideas that the genetic background in the mind of the individual plays no less role than upbringing, at least in some respects in some respects, is based on his arguments about the prospects of Russia in the world historical process. Based on these ideas, the author explains the development of many social phenomena in world history and in today"s Russian reality. The special attention paid to the Marxist revolutionary teaching is due to the fact that, despite the collapse of the USSR and the affairs of the construction of a society free from private property, Marxism continues to live both in modern Russia and in the world. The author is looking for an explanation of why the communist ideology, perceived by the post -October elites of Russia as a leadership to state construction, led the country into a historical dead end and why the restoration of private property did not reconcile its elites with the elites of the West. As a result of his reasoning, the author came to the conclusion that Russia could take a worthy place in the race of civilizations, if that part of the new Russian elite can come to power in the country, in the worldview of which the interests of the common good are higher than its own
