The first comprehensive publication on paper architecture, a unique phenomenon of Russian culture in the 1980s. Architect and curator Yuri Avvakumov tells in his book about the famous movement of paper architects, of which he was an active participant. Paper architecture is a variety of conceptualism in architecture, embodied in magazine publications, exhibitions, and idea competitions - a product of non-conformist reflection, using languages and images of different architectural styles to create multi-layered design compositions. Paper architecture combines expressive means of visual arts, architecture, literature, and theater. The book presents texts and works of all the main participants of the movement, including Yuri Avvakumov, Mikhail Belov, Alexander Brodsky, Lev Evzovich, Totan Kuzembaev, Vyacheslav Mizin, Ilya Utkin, and Mikhail Filippov.
