Reprint from the edition. Leningrad, 1929. The book examines the causes of panic and cases of panic in the European theater of military operations from 1805 to 1920. Pantaleimon Nikolaevich Simansky (1866 - 1938, Warsaw) was a lieutenant general of the Russian Imperial Army, a first-wave emigrant, and a military historian. During World War I, he commanded the 61st Infantry Division. In 1917, he was promoted to lieutenant general and appointed commander of the 47th Army Corps of the 6th Army, which was part of the Romanian Front. During the Civil War, he commanded the 1st Rifle Division of the Separate Pskov Volunteer Corps, later transformed into the Northwest Army. From 1919, he lived in exile in Poland. Initially, he worked in the Russian Political Committee, then engaged in scientific activities, mainly in military history. He collaborated with the Military Scientific Publishing Institute and the Military Historical Bureau. His works were published in Polish military journals 'Bellona' and 'Przeglad Historyczno-Wojskowy'.
