Paleontology: Textbook

The textbook was established in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education in the direction of preparation 05.03.01 Geology (Bachelor"s qualifications) In the first part of the textbook, the general provisions and basic concepts of paleontology are considered: the history of paleontology, the forms of safety of fossil (phossils), the patterns of evolution, the habitat, the conditions and lifestyle of organisms, the bomons of the world"s ocean, biomineralization and fosseilization, the role of organisms in sedimentation and breeding. The systematic part of the book contains the characteristics of the five kingdoms (bacteria, cyanobionts, plants, mushrooms and animals) and diagnoses of basic taxa of various rank (from harvesting to the kind) All sections are accompanied by a variety of illustrative material. The final part is devoted to the stages of the development of the organic world from archeozoic to modern times. The periods of Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic are considered in more detail.
