The next release of "own notes" N. N. Muravyov-Karsky covers the time period from 1821 to 1825. The author describes his stay in Turkmenistan, in particular the topographic survey of the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea in the Krasnovodskiy Bay, as well as the service in the Caucasus under the leadership of General A.P. Ermolov.
The material of diaries is replete with a large number of rare ethnographic material, as well as many curious household sketches of the details of the military service of N. N. Muravyov. The author tells of his relations with the authorities, colleagues and subordinates, as well as the rulers of the Caucasian and Asian principalities and khanates, among which there were many famous and colorful historical personalities.
