Readers are offered a book about a ballet artist, educator, founder, and director of the first professional ballet school in Kazakhstan, which today bears his name - Alexander Vladimirovich Seleznev (1906-1961). Secrets, twists, and signs of fate are intertwined in the memories of contemporaries and students, sometimes touching, sometimes sad, but always grateful. A native of St. Petersburg, he instilled in his Almaty students knowledge, experience, and a love for the art of dance with hope for the future of Kazakh ballet. A talented educator raised a whole constellation of bright creative personalities who later became masters of the ballet scene, outstanding figures in the choreographic art of Kazakhstan. The uniqueness of this edition is that it is released in Russian and for the first time in Kazakh, and also contains exclusive photo material.
