The book of one of the leading domestic medical historians Anton Gorsky is dedicated to the acute problems of the study of the Russian Middle Ages. Among the heroes of its first part, the iconic figures of Russian history are Igor Svyatoslavich Novgorod -Seversky, Alexander Nevsky, Yuri Danilovich Moscow, Dmitry Donskoy, whose actions still cause debate in the scientific environment.
The author, based on sources, convincingly shows that the ambiguous perception of their images is largely explained by the mismatch of our ideas and ethical norms with the ideals of our ancestors.
In the second part of the book, it is proved - using the original methodology of comparing texts - the primacy of the Word of Igor"s Regiment in relation to the Zadonshchina and thereby finally refuted the judgment on the fake of this outstanding work of ancient Russian literature.
