First I want to warn: in front of you is not an ordinary guide about where to go and what to see. The idea of the Korean peninsula does not consist of only material objects - as Aristotle assured, a whole more than the sum of its parts. In this book, a native of a native, brought up in South Korea and immersed in its culture for almost forty years, will tell you what it means to be a Korean in every sense of the word-from Kimchi to K-Pop and everything between them.
In order to truly understand a person, we must be in his place. Therefore, I invite you on a trip in which the soul of South Korea will reveal you. We will make several stops and find out how Koreans think, feel, behave in different situations and just live. And in order to truly understand how and why people think, act and feel just like that, and not otherwise, we must find out about their origin and trace their fate from the past to the present. In this book, I will introduce you to the rich and diverse history of the Korean peninsula, which formed the modern image of the region.
I will explain to you the character and essence of the Koreans: how they behave, relate to each other and interact with each other and with foreigners. You will learn everything about everyday life in the country - from related customs, traditions and cultural norms to the significance of family, friendship, romantic relationships and marriage.
