We know that life is impossible without food, but we rarely think about the fact that food is the most important moving power of history. Maybe that"s why such an obvious topic as the story of food did not receive scientific development in our country. And in this sense, the book of Anna Pavlovskaya, a doctor of historical sciences and professor of Moscow State University, is a unique phenomenon. The author considers through the prism of the history of food the history of the ancient world from the beginning of the so -called Neolithic revolution to the onset of antiquity, that is, the period when humanity has made the transition from collecting and hunting for the production of food and thereby laid the basis for the emergence of the first world civilizations. How, why and where did this happen? What were the consequences, cultural and physiological, this transition? How did he reflect in myths and in world religions? Answering these questions, the author simultaneously tells very interesting things about the emergence of the oldest food, many of which are still present on our table
