The Society for the Distribution of Useful Books has prepared by the book of the books of William Mack-Govern about his secret journey to Tibet. The book tells about how a disguised adventurer, along with his servant named Satan, penetrates into Lhassu closed to Europeans. These memoirs were published in 1924, and the only Russian translation was published in 1929. William Montgomery Mack-Govern (1897-1964)-adventurers, professor at the elite private North-Western University (Northwestern University), journalist and anthropologist. By the age of thirty, he managed to visit the unexplored areas of the Himalayas and the Amazon, was an eyewitness to the revolution in Mexico, studied in Oxford and Sorbonne and became a Buddhist priest in the Japanese monastery. Mack-Govern, whose life was full of adventure and dangers, served as one of the prototypes of Indiana Jones
