The object of attention of the authors is the most important features of authoritarian political regimes, the features of their functioning. These features are understood by examples of specific political regimes of Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa. Special attention is paid to the political regimes that arose after the collapse of the SSR union. The changes that have occurred in the last two decades in the political regime of the Russian Federation are examined in detail. In this regard, the authors consider the problems of hybrid (simulation) regimes, such, in particular, as a weakening of parliamentarism, corruption, etc
