The new monograph by the candidate of historical sciences, Yu. V. Kornilov, is devoted to the oriental ideology and politics of Alexander the Great, the commander and statesman who was able to win the Persian empire and laid the foundation for Hellenism. The orientalism of Alexander the Great was expressed in borrowing and adaptation to the morals and customs of defeated peoples. At the same time, in the perception of the Greeks and the Macedonians of these customs, distortions took place, as happened with the custom of Proscy (kneeling) The power of Alexander the Great did not survive its creator, but his policy and ideology were a model for Hellenistic monarchs.
