The textbook is created in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education in the field of "Tourism", specialization "Organization of the Tourist Industry". The textbook covers historical aspects of the development of global and domestic tourism, factors determining its current state. It discusses the basics of the tourist industry as one of the components of the state's economic system, the structure of the tourist services market, the essence and classification of tourist resources, the specifics of Russia's tourist potential, the importance of accommodation and catering services in tourism, the role of transportation in the tourist business, as well as traditions and innovations in various types of tourism and their prospective development directions. The textbook also addresses issues of legal regulation of tourist activities at the international level and in Russia.
