Optical Spectroscopy of Bulk Semiconductors and Nanostructures. Educational manual

This book contains a statement of the foundations of the optical spectroscopy of semiconductors. Single-particle and collective excitations in their own and impurity semiconductors are considered, a quantum description and analysis of the corresponding spectra, as well as the relationship of optical spectra with the zone structure of semiconductors, is given. The book contains two parts: the first contains sections concerning volumetric semiconductors, and in the second part are the basics of optical spectroscopy, associated with the study of low-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures - quantum dots, quantum pits, superlattices and two-dimensional exciton polaritons.
