One's time

The new book by the well-known poet, prose writer, and essayist Alexander Barash (b. 1960, Moscow) is a continuation of the autobiographical novel "Happy Childhood" (NLO, 2006). "His Time": Moscow, 1980s, poetry, literary underground, a journey through the stages of relationships with Soviet civilization. This is the testimony of an eyewitness and active participant in the independent cultural life of Moscow of that era - a poet, publisher of the leading Moscow samizdat literary almanac "Epsilon-Salon" (jointly with N. Baytov, 1985-1989), curator of the "Epsilon" group at the "Poetry" club, as well as one of the creators and lyricists of the rock band "Megapolis". The intertwining of memoir prose, critical essays, and poems creates a special stylistic alloy aimed at restoring the "portrait of a generation in youth" and conveying the atmosphere of the beloved city during a pivotal time.
