Sergey Alekseev (1922-2008), editor, critic, writer.
The young years of the writer passed in Orenburg: he studied at the flight school, he worked as an instructor of the educational aviation regiment, graduated from the historical faculty of the Penal Institute. Later he worked in several publishers and magazines.
For forty years of work in the literature, Alekseev created more than thirty books on the history of Russia for four centuries: from the middle of the XVI to the middle of the XX century. These books were translated into 50 languages of the peoples of the world and received wide fame not only in our country, but also abroad.
A book on which generation of young readers has grown. The book in which the heroic feat of our people in the Great Patriotic War was not given by a dry, state-of-government facts, but multifaceted real people who survived glorious and terrible years 1941-1945.
