Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn (1918—2008) was a Russian writer, Nobel Prize laureate (1970), and laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation for outstanding achievements in the field of humanitarian activities (2006). All of his work is permeated with pain and great faith in the preservation of the human soul. The book includes his iconic stories from the 1960s, such as "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich," "Matryona's House," "The Right Hand," "Zakhar-Kalita," "An Incident at Krechetovka Station," and miniatures called "Tiny Things" (1958—1963) by the author himself.
