In front of you is a collection of short therapeutic fairy tales called "Once upon a time there was a girl." In the heroines of these tales, everyone can recognize themselves, as they are full of metaphors. You have probably come across these short texts on large resources (such as adme.ru) as well as on smaller ones. Perhaps you even got the impression that this is folk art. However, despite this feeling, the tales have a specific author. That author is me, Aglaya Dateshidze. In September 2017, in Altai, I sat and agonizingly searched for a form through which I could briefly and metaphorically convey about myself. To gather moments of life that surprise, delight, discourage, and make you think. That's how the first "Once upon a time there was a girl" was born, and then it took off. Thousands of people recognize themselves and think that I am spying on them. Hundreds of people imitate. Dozens imitate quite successfully. I don't mind, but I'm not spying. I just try to adapt to the paradoxes of this world, daily encapsulating them in a short, ironic form. And I am grateful for the opportunity to speak with you from the pages of this book. When I started editing the texts, many stories were reworked and collected together in this form for the first time. Open and savor every line.
