The second volume of the book of the leading researcher of the Book and Reading of the Federal State Budgetary Institution, the Russian State Library, A.V. Kuzmina continues the study of such little-studied problems in modern historiography as genealogy of the military-servant nobility of northeastern Rus" of the XIII-first half of the XV century. Attracting the wide steep of written and material sources of the XIV-XVIII centuries, the author analyzes the evolution of the birth memory of various military surnames that came from among the metropolitan and regional elite of North-Eastern Rus" and its neighboring lands. The personal composition and genealogy of the princely and boyar clans, who were in the service of Moscow great and specific princes, metropolitans of Kyiv and all Rus", is being reconstructed. The reasons for changing the birth memory of the servile nobility in the late XV-XVII centuries, which, under the influence of various political and cultural processes, explained in its own way the time, circumstances and transition of noble persons to the service in Moscow. Much attention is paid to a group of surnames, real and imaginary descendants of immigrants "from the Horde".
