Is it possible to live a long life and die before your own birth? According to the mysterious laws of relativity theory - why not! When in 1991 a twenty-year-old youth named August decided to play detective and track down a strange-looking old man, did he know that this idle venture would change his entire life, with the past becoming his future, the dead becoming alive. Due to incredible circumstances, August finds himself in the distant year of 1911. Before him come to life long-gone days, events, and people. To console him for the loss of his familiar way of life, this 'new' fate gives the hero the love of a young beauty named Catherine, family happiness, and the joy of creativity. However, August cannot shake the feeling that some dark force continues to rule over him. Indeed, a cruel fate intrudes into his short-lived family happiness with a series of shipwrecks and the death of loved ones. In despair, August tries to make sense of what is happening, seeks a way out, and finds it in love, realizing that by losing love, he would lose the most important thing - the meaning of life. "In love, all are alive!" - asserts the main character of the novel, overcoming numerous trials of fear, despair, prejudices, loss of loved ones, and time.
