The textbook contains a theoretical course on the section of geriatrics 'Nursing care for elderly patients' and is compiled in accordance with the requirements of the new federal state educational standard of secondary vocational education in the specialty 34.02.01 'Nursing'. The entire theoretical material is divided into sections based on the anatomical principle, which include professional and general competencies of nurses necessary for providing pre-hospital care to patients of the older age group with diseases of the corresponding organs. The topics of the theoretical block also include a list of basic concepts and terms, control questions for self-assessment of knowledge. The textbook describes the diverse activities of a nurse in departments with a geriatric focus: therapeutic, pulmonological, cardiological, gastroenterological, urological, nephrological, traumatological. The clinical features of each of the discussed pathologies in elderly and senile patients are outlined in comparison with the classic variants of these diseases in young and middle-aged patients. The text is supplemented with numerous illustrations, tables, and diagrams, which facilitate the perception of information. The publication is intended for students of medical schools and colleges.
