Modern trends in the development of the global energy sector are focused on involving non-traditional hydrocarbon sources in the fuel and energy balance: methane clathrate, coal, and gas hydrate deposits, as well as high-viscosity oils and bitumens, the extraction of which is currently problematic. The monograph presents the engineering and scientific foundations for the development of non-traditional hard-to-recover hydrocarbon sources, the extraction of which has become a priority task for the modern global fuel and energy complex. The proposed technical solutions are supported by numerous patents of the Russian Federation. Of particular interest is the prospect of producing synthetic hydrocarbons (liquid and gaseous) from coal through its underground gasification. The practical implementation of the developed technologies will significantly expand the resource base of environmentally friendly organic fuels.
