The educational complex (book and electronic application) describes the history, current state and prospects for the development of non-traditional and renewable energy sources (NWIE)): solar, geothermal, wind, wave, hydrogen, energy of tides and sings. Much attention is paid to extracting low-precious energy from environmental objects, as well as biological waste (bioenergy) Based on the experience gained in different countries, there are problems with the problems of large-scale implementation of NVIE, searching for ways of optimal combination of them with traditional energy sources. The issues of energy saving and energy efficiency are currently reviewed for our country, the role of NWIE in environmentally oriented modernization of the economy is shown.
