The action of the story "Ninth" is unfolding in the self-proclaimed Transnistrian Republic in the early 1990s. A small state, to Russia, barely restrains the blows of the reactionary forces seeking to suppress his right to freedom. There is a psychological war, fighting, people are dying, mercenary-snipers who kill peaceful people work. The protagonist is a hunter for snipers, an officer-Chekist, directed from Russia to help Transnistria. His task is to extinguish confused in the republic, confused and panic caused by rampant terrorism. The task it performs.
