Nikolai Gavrilovich Chernyshev, talented scientist, doctor of technical sciences. One of the first to investigate the physicochemical properties of various substances in order to determine the possibility of using them as rocket fuels and oxidizing agents for the LRC, developed the technology for obtaining a tetranitrometan as an oxidizing agent in the LSR. One of the first to propose the use of hydrogen in missile technology, was engaged in self -flammable missile fuels, the creation of pulsating rocket engines with liquid fuel. Under his leadership, a self -sealing calorimetric bomb was created to measure the thermal pipeline capacity of fuels, replacing M. Bertlo"s similar bomb. Theoretical and experimental work of N.G. Chernyshev served as the basis for developing fuel requirements for the LRC at the initial stage of rocket science.
The first systematized generalization of information on the hollows of the LRC was the monograph by N.G. Chernysheva "Chemistry of missile fuels", which had a huge impact on the development of the testing methodology, development and use of missile fuels. as well as training specialists.
N.G. Chernyshev is a participant in the creation of the faculty of missile technology MVTU named after N.E. Bauman. He gave a course of lectures at this faculty, at the Higher Engineering Courses of the MVTU, at the Academy of Industry of Weapons and popular lectures at the Polytechnic Museum.
