Night in room 103

Japan. A small hotel on the northern slope of a mountain. A hardworking family has owned it for forty-six generations. Guests are greeted by the young Ryu, his mother cooks delicious dishes, his father takes care of the baths, and his younger brother leads excursions. The grandmother, Hakusana, reigns over everyone as the hotel's hostess. There are other employees in the hotel who provide the most unobtrusive service. The owners see them, but the guests never do. The employees are connected by family ties and a contract with a mysterious guest who arrives at the hotel for three nights a year and stays in room 103. Aspiring writer Michi arrives at the hotel in search of inspiration and is checked into the one hundred and third room. The next morning, Michi wakes up dead. The room is full of spirits - loyal servants of the hotel. And in a hidden room, another captive of the rekan sings sad songs.
