Tom Wolfe, the classic of American literature, the author of many artistic and documentary works, reflects in this book about the fate of journalism and is divided by the secrets of reporter skill.
The book consists of two large sections. In the first - theoretical - Wolfe argues that journalism should be "new" - similar to artistic prose, to build on the same laws as the novel.
In the second - "anthology of the new journalism", 23 examples are given: Articles of the famous American Writers of the 20th century, preceded by certificates of authors: Capote, Hanter Tompson, Richard Goldstain, Normal Meyler, John Skeek, etc
