The fundamental, innovative study study of the cemetery of the Moscow Danilov Monastery was prepared by the famous archaeologist L.A. Belyaev. Based on field work (1980-2000) and in-depth archival search. Work diaries are published, field fixation materials, expertise, documentary reimbursement of the cemetery plan, made by historian S.A. Smirnov (based on A.T. Lebedev 1920s) The book describes the opening of the burial places of the great church and secular figures of Russia, such as Archbishop Nikiphor (FEOTOKIS) and writer Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol.
Edition is richly illustrated by unique old and modern photographs, most of which are introduced into the scientific turnover for the first time.
