The book of Vladislav Khodasevich (1886–1939) "Necropolis, which has long become a classic of the memoir genre, is interesting primarily by the sharp, sometimes completely unexpected characteristics of the people with whom the author came to life - and among them Blok, Bryusov, Andrey Bely, Gumilev, Gorky, Gorky, Gorky, Gorky Fedor Sologub, and a very special "macabrist" tone of the story, which is also due to the very name of the book - in the revolution, the civil war, the forced emigration of many representatives of the Russian intelligentsia Khodasevich saw the death of Russian culture.
These sentiments were generally characteristic of the last stage of the work of this outstanding poet, who completed his life away from their homeland.
The book also includes memoir essays that were not included in the necropolis" published in emigrant newspapers and magazines
