What is life?

Erwin Schrödinger (1887-1961)-Austrian theoretical physicist, one of the creators of quantum mechanics, Nobel Physics Prize winner (1933) In his famous work “What is life?”, In many respects, which in many ways determined the further development of several scientific areas at once, Schrödinger also turned to an object lying at the junction of biology, physics and chemistry and tried to consider a living cell and the body as a whole as a physical object. He wanted to understand whether living matter obeys standard physical laws, as quantum theory is consistent with genetics and what is life from the point of view of the “behavior” of living objects. He reflects on a topic that will remain relevant for a long time - what is consciousness? And what is a world, not illuminated by the light of consciousness? The game without spectators is not led by anyone, and therefore ... not existing?
In this short but surprisingly capacious work, the author managed to combine the incongruous - strict scientific approach and entertaining fiction. Schrödinger invites us to look at the phenomenon of consciousness from various directions, and this study is more fascinating than any detective
