The textbook reveals a variety of objects and phenomena of various areas of reality - nature, society, culture. In the first part of the textbook - "Man and Nature" - second -graders get acquainted with the diversity of the natural world. The methodological apparatus of the textbook is focused on the development of skills to work with information (analyze, compare, evaluate), as well as use additional sources of information in accordance with the age characteristics of second -graders. To this end, the maintenance of the textbook includes such headings as “turn to the dictionary”, virtual excursions, the dictionary of basic concepts and new words, a large number of developing questions and tasks, practical works and experiments.
