A collective monograph was prepared as part of a joint research project by employees of the two units of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences: the Center for the Study of General Problems of the Modern East and the Department of Economic Research. Also in the work on the monograph, authors from Moscow, Ulyanovsk, Kaluga, Krasnoyarsk, Ulan-Bator (Mongolia) and Busana (Republic of Korea) took part.
The monograph is devoted to the study of innovative technologies defined within its framework as TMM - technology that change the world.
The book consists of a preface and 12 chapters distributed into four sections. Each section is made up of several cases, or research on a specific example (Case Study), gravitating to one (in the broad sense of the word) thematic field.
The authors of the first section pay main attention to the analysis of individual TMM, their economic effects, and methods of their use. The authors of the second section sought to show on the examples of India and China, how TMM could serve or already serve to strengthen the power control over the wide masses of the population. The third section presents an analysis of the behavioral answers of individual social groups (migrants, youth) and in general European, Russia, Asia and Africa for socio-psychological, socio-political and sociocultural challenges created by TMM. The fourth section combines cases focused on the humanitarian aspects of human interaction and TMM, such as the role of TMM in the distribution of Korean pop culture around the world, providing the educational process in the Philippines in the conditions of the Pandemia and the use of digital technologies to contain coronavirus in Mongolia and South Korea
