Essays with a pen and pencil ”are equipped with comments and a preface to the re -release of the book of 1867 with 27 lithographs of Petit fields, which became a bibliographic rarity. This is a description of a round -the -world trip made by the author on the courts Plastun and Novik, in diaries and drawings. A. V. Vysheslavtsev (1831–1888) - Tambov nobleman, military doctor, figure of the great reforms of the 19th century, traveler, writer, artist, art critic. For three years, he made a complete round -the -world voyage: he visited the islands of the Atlantic Ocean, South Africa, Singapore, Japan, Russian Primorye, on the way back - the islands of the Pacific Ocean, and South America. The purpose of the expedition was to consolidate Russia, which after the defeat in the Crimean war in the Black Sea, in the recently acquired Amur Territory, was studying the study of Primorye. The crown of the trip was a stay in Japan with the squadron of Count N. N. Muravyov-Amursky, who recently entered into an agreement on the borders with China and who arrived to resolve the Sakhalin issue that has recently been profitable for Russia
