Nikitsky Botanical Garden. History and fate

The book introduces the history of one of the oldest in the country of the world-famous Nikitsky Botanical Garden, whose 200th anniversary is celebrated in 2012. This unique botanical-agronomic institution has determined the development of entire sectors of the country"s agriculture for many years. Here the first scientific collections of fruit trees and grapes were laid here, industrial Russian winemaking and essential -growing crop production were born. For many years, a successful study of the natural flora of Crimea has been conducted in the garden. A beautiful old park, all year round, pleasing to flowering plants collected from different countries of the world, and a multidisciplinary scientific institution exist here in a creative community. The Patriarch Garden, having passed part of his collections, became the founder of several new scientific institutions.
