Natural science is a system of sciences about natural objects, phenomena and processes. The study of this subject gives comprehensive information about the world, so the teaching of this discipline in Soviet elementary school attached very great importance. This publication is the original text of the textbooks of the candidate of biological sciences, botany, professor Vladimir Tetyrev, approved by the People"s Commissariat of the RSFSR and issued in 1939-1940. The manual contains detailed information about living and inanimate nature: soil and minerals, water, air, electricity, life and development of plants, animals, birds and fish, the origin of man and the structure of the human body. Also in the textbook there are examples of experiments for independent work and tasks that help to better learn and consolidate the material covered
