The book consists of two parts. The first - "two years in the ice" - is published in strict accordance with the 1920 publication and is a diary that the author conducted on the expedition until December 5, 1912. The second part is the “midday night, the midnight sun”, which gave the name of the whole book, - Previously, it was never published in Russian. The author, being in exile in Switzerland, published it in French in 1946, shortly before death. This is a collection of short stories telling about various episodes of life and expedition G. Ya.
