We are used to believing that we control the land and it is subordinate to us. That everything is under our control: nature, climate, half -pounds of animals. But this is not so. The famous TV presenter and naturalist writer Sir David Atenboro in his book acts as a witness and an eyewitness to irreversible changes that have occurred with the planet in recent years.
The book is divided into several stages associated with the life and work of the author. In the first part of the book, the author invites us on a trip to his childhood in 1937, when he had a fascination with fossils. Then we get acquainted with the work of David Atenboro on the BBC as a naturalist and TV presenter, with his travels, the purpose of which is to introduce the audience to the animal and plant world of the Earth. He also talks about other significant events, such as the Apollo -8 mission or the Chernobyl disaster, Pripyat ... All these stories are connected by a red thread with the main theme of the book - how important the biodiversity of the Earth and how we destroyed it.
