The textbook is the first in the domestic educational literature, designed for students of nebiological specialties, in which an attempt is made to expand the “niche” of environmental knowledge, including material, which is significantly going beyond the traditional environmental courses.
The main task of the manual is to give the reader a sufficient amount of material, which allows to competently navigate in the problems that are currently called environmental and which have become dangerous primarily due to the fact that people in assessing their relationships with nature Rather, they tend to change nature than their ideas about the rationality of these relationships. Therefore, in the framework of this manual, ecology is considered not as a single science, but much wider - as a problematicly oriented system of interdisciplinary knowledge about the relationship of man and nature as a whole. The true causes of the problems called environmental are actually often go far beyond the framework of traditional ecology, and the solution of these problems requires additional and new knowledge, a new type of thinking
