The task of this textbook is to determine the role of biotechnology in solving the problems of environmental protection. The book gives information about the functioning of ecosystems, their stability and stability. Information about the sources of pollution and the main pollutants of ecosystems, i.e., organic compounds, heavy metals, oil products, are given. It is shown how biotransformation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAU) can occur, what microorganisms-destructors are involved in biotechnological purification of soil and water from oil and oil products. The mechanisms of the biotransformation of metals and the methods of their cleaning in industrial and communal waste waste are also shown. The issues of bioconversion of organic waste with the possibility of obtaining environmentally friendly energy are considered.
