The book is devoted to one of the dramatic pages in the history of Napoleonic wars - the fate of the prisoners of war of the Great Army, which found themselves in Russia as a result of wars 1806-1807 and 1812-1814. They were dispersed almost in all provinces of European Russia, part of them were sent to Siberia and the Caucasus. Having lived in Russia for several years before the conclusion of the world, they had some cultural influence on the Russian province, left in their memoirs a description of different regions of Russia.
