The book "Nanny" is a unique collection of memoirs of outstanding figures of Russian culture and science of the 19-20th centuries about their nannies. The idea of the collection belongs to the wonderful Russian writer S.N. Durilin. Having gathered a folder of memoirs of his famous contemporaries and predecessors, he, unfortunately, did not manage to start this work. However, the colossal historical and cultural significance of the phenomenon of the Russian nanny, "... this great mother of the Russian man only according to the law of love, and not according to the law of parenthood, forced Victoria Nikolaevna Toropov - the author of the biography of S.N. Durylina (ZhZL) - to complete the priceless work.
